Cleaning
When a wedding gown is received by us for cleaning we like to know as much about the dress and situations as possible. The information that is helpful to us is the obvious first, what are those spots on the dress from, but also important is how long have they been there, were there any clear beverages such as champagne spilled on it, etc. A thorough inspection takes place to look for the obvious and not so obvious conditions that can affect the outcome of the dress. Photographs are taken to have a record of what the dress looked like before cleaning along with close up shots of stained areas of concern. Our expert stain remover is the next to handle the gown. Different from most other cleaners, we do not process all gowns the same. We believe that a gown should not be “over-processed” meaning that we don’t just stick it into a machine and clean it for as long as it takes to remove the stains. Each stain is evaluated and carefully loosened or removed prior to the Dry-Clean or Wet-Clean process we perform. Wedding gowns are not designed like everyday-wear and need to be treated with much greater care. This is where we excel. Even our dry-cleaning solution is gentler than what the majority of cleaners use. Our organic hydrocarbon solvent is non corrosive on delicate beads and trim.
